Military Heritage Day on Armed Forces Day May 17 will showcase the importance of the military in the lives of western New Yorkers from the birth of our nation through the modern day.
Come with your troop (or separately) and receive discounted admission ($6.50 for scouts and $11 for adults). Troops may pre-register by calling 585-294-8218.
In addition to the activities* listed above the following special scout activities will be offered:
Local author and Town of Wheatland historian, Barbara Chapman, will be on-site with copies of her two books Mary Thorne's Journal and Wheatland and The Civil War. The village of Mumford, in which GCV&M is located, is actually part of the Town of Wheatland, New York. Barbara Chapman is the local director of the Wheatland Historical Association and will be available in the Flint Hill Store from 2pm to 4pm for a meet-and-greet and book signing.

The museum is now open 10am-4pm, Wed-Sun Sept 6-Oct. 13. Nature center trails are open 10 am-4 pm weekends.
