The Old-Time Fiddlers' Fair is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday August 17 & 18. Gates open at 10am.
Music will flow continuously with performances from more than 100 musicians, drawn from around the state and ranging from polished professional to the youngest beginner.
Plan to join us once again.
STAGE #1 The Rising Generation Stage
(Hosted by Carol Monaco & Fiddlesticks)
This venue offers two full days of performance opportunities for our younger and/or newer fiddlers. Stage #1 will offer a supportive environment for students, new performers (of any age), and fiddlers who seek to enhance their skills. We will also be offering some special "Meet the Fiddler" presentations that will teach more about the fiddling tradition in New York State.
STAGE #2 The Exhibition Hall
(Hosted by the Fiddlers of the Genesee)
The museum's spacious agricultural barn will again be the setting for expanded performances by fiddler or dulcimer-oriented music clubs and bands.
STAGE #3 The Main Stage
(Hosted by the Flint Hill Folk)
Our traditional open stage is for fiddlers ages 12 and over and their accompanists. Noted regional fiddlers will kick-off each hour while, as always, other performance times are scheduled on a first-come-first-served basis.
STAGE #4 The Historic Village - Brooks Grove Church
(BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!)
This venue is located in the 19th century historic village inside a restored church that seats 175 comfortably. The natural acoustics and open nature of the building will welcome groups and bands to perform "unplugged" and at their leisure.
Other exciting musical venues include:
- Fox Den hosts a country western open-mic stage in the air-conditioned meeting center
- Mitzie Collins and the Striking Strings perform all day in the hammered dulcimer tent
- The Fiddlers' of the Genesee host a jamming tent open to all musicians next to the museum's gazebo
- Musicians are permitted and encouraged to strike up a tune anywhere they please throughout the historic village and Great Meadow areas!
