
Bring your curriculum to life!
Choose from a variety of programs for Pre K-2nd, 3rd-6th, 7th-8th, and 9th-12th grades, each covering fresh material. Programs are grouped below by least structured to most structured:
- Self-Guided Tour: you and your class explore on your own
- Enrichment Options: add 30-min. Staff-Guided activities to your Self-Guided Tour.
- Free Hands-on Activities: visit 10 stations around the village that will offer hands-on activities to students visiting the museum during their self-guided tour or register for a 30-minute lesson at our Female Seminary.
- Focused Field Study: 1 ½ -2 hr. immersive experiences that are teacher-developed and student-tested. Museum guides work with your class in small groups. Students might do chores, cook, sketch, etc. You’ll receive a study guide that includes pre- and post-visit activities, a topical bibliography, vocabulary list, sample organizers, and worksheets.
- Guided Tours: 2-2 ½ hr. Tours guided by knowledgeable Museum staff
- Custom Tours: day-long tours guided by Museum staff and based on your individual curriculum needs
Plus, if you can’t come to us, our Moveable Museum programs can come to your classroom.

Funding your trip
Assistance may be available through the following programs:
- Partial reimbursement may be obtainable through Erie 1 BOCES COSER 427.500 Cultural Enrichment
- Those not affiliated with Erie 1 BOCES may cross-contract for assistance. Check with your Administrators or School Business Office. Paperwork must be completed 8 weeks in advance of trip.

Does your school have at least 35 percent of its students on the free lunch program? If so, and your school is in Monroe (excluding RCSD), Wayne, Orleans, Livingston, Genesee, Wyoming, Ontario, Yates or Seneca counties you may be eligible for free admission for your self-guided tour or a discount on your Focused Field Study or Enrichment Options, while funds last. - Needs-based funding for trip cost is available for Rochester City School District. Call (585) 538-6822 ext. 216 for application information.
