We want to insure you are aware of the approaching deadlines for two very attractive, year-end giving opportunities (see below) which will change or expire on December 31, 2011.
Charitable Gift Annuity: Annuity rates, which are based on the age of the donor, will be decreasing starting January 1, 2012. One or two individuals may contribute $10,000 or more to create an annuity, which pays out a fixed income for the rest of your life (or the longer of two lives).
The IRA Charitable Rollover: Individuals who are 70½ and older can roll over up to $100,000 from an Individual Retirement Account directly to charity and satisfy the need for a required minimum distribution. This provision expires on December 31.
