Planning a field trip is easy.

The historic village is open for self-guided tours and Focused Field Studies from mid-May through mid-October. Museum educator-guided tours are offered in early May and late October. The nature center is open for scheduled programs throughout the school year. For exact dates, please call (585) 294-8218. You may schedule your visit for Tuesday through Friday unless otherwise noted.

To make the most of your field trip we suggest the following:

  • Make your reservations at least five weeks in advance of your visit. School tours are popular and space is limited.

  • We welcome groups of any size. We request that you bring one chaperone or teacher for every eight students.

  • Plan carefully, consider the purpose of your visit, which tour options best suit your needs, and in which additional activities you’d like to participate. Our staff will be happy to assist you.

  • Consider using the museum’s outreach program, the Movable Museum, before or after your field trip to complement a unit of study.

  • Indicate any special needs when making your reservation.

  • Payment must be made at the time of your visit. We accept checks, money orders, cash, credit cards or purchase orders.

  • If you need to cancel your visit, please let us know as soon as possible by calling (585) 294-8218. This helps us accommodate the preferences of other groups.

  • Admission fees apply to students who are Genesee Country Village & Museum members.
