Unless otherwise noted, all programs take place during regular museum hours. Additional fees may apply for some programs. From June through September, the museum offers a variety of daily village walks, talks and 19th-century activities -- these are listed on the museum day sheet. Every Sunday at 2 p.m. year round, the museum's Genesee Country Nature Center offers naturalist-led walks that focus on the area's flora, fauna, minerals and more. Daily 10 a.m.-5 p.m.These
exhibits (1) offer landscapes, buildings and other historic places
representing the Genesee Valley region by the Genesee Valley Plein
Air Painters and
(2) take an in-depth look at American’s love affair with sweets.The
evolution of desserts is reflected in changes in lifestyle, technology
and how America viewed health and nutrition in the 19th century.

parades, pageants, music and an immigration and naturalization ceremony.

Bats of New York State |
Friday 7:30 p.m.— Learn about
the nine species of bats indigenous to New York State, explore popular
myths about bats and, with the aid of a bat detector, listen as the
bats forage for insects on this evening hike on the museum’s Oatka
Creek property. Fee: Adults, $5/$3 members; youth (4-16), $3/$1
members; children 3 and younger, free. Reservations required. NC |

Breakfast with the Farmer |
Saturday 9 a.m.— Breakfast with
the farmer is a fun way to start your day. Start with a stroll to the
Freight House for a hearty breakfast buffet. Then we head for the Pioneer
Farmstead and work off that big breakfast helping the farmer and cabin
cook with simple chores. After we meet the animals and complete a farmyard
craft to carry home. Fee: adults $12/$10 members; youth $7/$5 members;

celebrate the birthday of Rochester's most famous citizen, whose simple
Greek Revival boyhood home is now a part of our historic village. Sample

Saturday 6-9 p.m.— Enjoy a wine
and music festival in the historic village. Sample New York State wines
and foods from local caterers, restaurants and food produced by local
vendors while listening to live
music by the Rochester Rat Pack and Jimmie Highsmith, Jr. All proceeds
from this event will benefit Genesee Country Village & Museum &

Witness experiential history at its best when a family spends this weekend
living as early 19th-century pioneers, wearing the clothes, cooking
the food and doing the chores—including tending farm animals and
working the oxen—that characterized life on the frontier 200 years
ago. This weekend's theme is "Season of Plenty." |

Summer Wildflowers |
Sunday 2 p.m.— Join us as we
walk the Lower Meadow Trail in search of summer wildflowers including
spotted knapweed, Queen Anne’s Lace, hawkweed and more. |

June through September join us for these ongoing activities.
- GATHERINGS Tuesday-Friday, 2 p.m. Have fun and gain an appreciation
for the past at the daily Gatherings in various locations throughout the
historic village. These engagements are approximately 20 minutes long
and cover a variety of topics, allowing visitors to experience 19th-century
village life up close. Specific topics, locations and times are listed
on the day sheet.
- MEET THE POTTER Tuesday-Saturday, 2:30 p.m., Flint Hill Pottery.
Learn all about the art, craft and history of pottery making.
- MEET THE CRAFTSPERSON Tuesday-Saturday, All day. (Meeting place
and featured craftsperson varies. Please check the day sheet.)
- GARDEN TOURS Daily, 12:30 p.m.. Visit our heirloom gardens
to see, smell and appreciate what's in bloom. (Please check day sheet
