Woodland Fairy & Elf Academy
This magical program will create a lasting connection with nature for your little fairy or elf.

Join us and our woodland friends for a magical experience!

Woodland Fairy & Elf Academy is an opportunity for your 4 to 8-year-old child to get in touch with their inner fairy or elf and gain outdoor experiences that will last a lifetime. Children benefit from a connection to the natural world around them. We are happy to help your little one discover everything the Genesee Country Nature Center has to offer during these magical classes. Children in this program are given the choice to be a fairy, elf, or human each day. If they would like, the children are invited to borrow costumes to complete their transformation. These costumes are designed to be worn over your child’s clothing. Costumes include any combination of a tutu, wings, and a green tunic.

Get ready for some fairy fun this fall! Join us as we discover the beauty and science behind fall leaves, creating our own nature creations. Harvest local grapes, berries, and apples in the Historic Village as you learn about how local wildlife and people pack away and preserve food for the upcoming winter.  Finally, learn how to make apple sauce over an open fire as they would have in the 19th Century. Fall in love with the bounty around us!

Winter Wings

Saturday afternoons from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
(Dates TBD)

Fee: $120 (10% member discount)

During this class your child will get up close and personal with the many species of birds that call the Genesee Country Nature Center home. Many animals hibernate or migrate to survive the long cold winters, but some birds stay and are excited to meet your little fairy or elf. Participants will listen to stories, make bird feeders to attract birds to your backyard, and use binoculars and bird callers to meet new bird buddies. What a wonderful way to spend a winter day!
