Genesee Country Village & Museum offers cool summer experiences like no other camp in the area. Children who love the outdoors and who are curious about life in the past will love summer camp at GCV&M. Are your children playing too many video games or watching too much TV? Do they need an electronic detox? Unplug your summer and provide them with a one-of-a-kind adventure that will make history!
The museum has exceptional programs for children with two options sure to appeal to any child’s interests: Good Old Days Camp summer sampler programs recreate what life was like for a child living a long time ago. Using the historic village as its unique setting, children are immersed in activities that young people who lived “back in the day” might have experienced. Walk on stilts, participate in a Civil War military drill, play stool ball, or practice your sling shot skills.
Earth Camp nature programs allow children to discover the outdoors with exciting hands-on adventures. Energetic and fun staff will create memorable explorations that nurture a child’s connection to the natural world. Watch the excitement on your child’s face as they recount the day’s adventures. Some of the possibilities may include: building a fire with flint and steel, navigating through the backwoods, reeling in the catch of the day and discovering what lives hidden in the bottom of a pond.
Sign up for your summer adventure soon because classes fill up quickly and we don’t want to start the fun without you!

What parents are saying about Summer Camp at GCV&M:
"Our daughter enjoys her time at GCV&M camp. She loves dressing and acting as an individual living during the camp's historical era. She learns a lot from the active role playing."
Hanne and Eric, parents of a happy camper
“There are many reasons we’ve enjoyed sending our kids to the summer camp programs—proximity/convenience, competitive pricing compared to other programs, excellent content, wonderful/friendly staff (it’s very sweet to see the same leaders there, year after year, and particularly rewarding when they recognize our children by name and welcome them so warmly on their first days!). Both kids always look forward to the day the brochure arrives every Spring and picking out their programs every year. I always feel a bit jealous—so much fun stuff going on, I wish I were a kid and could attend, too!”
Debra, parent of two happy campers
