19th-Century Sweet Treats Workshop

Bake a 19th-century treat!

Practice your baking skills on a 19th century woodstove and learn how to make our popular 1-2-3-4 cake along with New York Gingersnaps.

Recommended Age: 12 and up (anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a paid adult)

Space is limited, and this class tends to sell out very quickly!

Ticket Information

Tickets for this workshop must be purchased online in advance before Tuesday February 4, 2024 at 12 pm noon. 

General tickets: $50

Museum Members: $45

FAQs

Is there ample parking?

Yes! Park in any of the main lots at the front of the Museum (please leave the first two bays open for handicap parking).

Where do I check in?

Check in will be in the Meeting Center Lounge, to the immediate right of the Admissions tunnel when facing the front of the Museum. 

How do I show my purchased tickets?

We will be checking you in by name. However, we recommend also printing out OR taking a screenshot of your invoice or ticket(s) as backup. 

What if I am unable to walk long distances?

Walking is required to get from Admissions to the workshop site and back. However, if you have difficulties with mobility, please notify our staff, and our Security team will transport you in their vehicle. 

Is this event rain or shine?

Yes! The Museum will only cancel by order of Monroe County. 

Do I need to bring anything with me?

You may  bring your own apron, but all other materials needed to make this workshop successful will be provided to you. 

What else will be open?

Genesee Country Village & Museum will be open with a handful of staffed buildings around the Village Square from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., plus programming in the Nature Center! 

A limited food menu will be offered in the Meeting Center Lounge from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

How should I dress?

Please wear clothing suitable for baking and comfortable shoes. If you plan to visit the Historic Village after class, dress for the predicted weather conditions and wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking on gravel paths and uneven surfaces. 

You will be walking from Admissions to the workshop site and back; please be prepared for a walk through the Historic Village in the predicted weather conditions. 

What if I need a refund for my ticket?

Tickets may be refunded only up to 7 days prior to the event date and are strictly non-transferable by date, entry time, or program.
