19th-Century Sweet Treats Workshop

Bake on a wood-fired oven!

Treat yourself and your loved ones to delicious, historical sweets! Learn how to make wafers using a 19th century wafer iron over an open fire, and churn your own ginger ice cream! Please wear closed-toed shoes for this experience. 

Space is limited, and this class tends to sell out very quickly!

FAQs

Is there ample parking?

Yes! Park in any of the main lots at the front of the Museum (please leave the first two bays open for handicap parking).

Where do I check in?

Check in at the Meeting Center Lounge (go through the white double doors to the right of Admissions). Your instructor will meet you there and guide you back to Jones Farm, where the workshop will take place. 

How do I show my purchased tickets?

Please have your ticket(s) either printed out OR pulled up on your phone screen and ready for scanning for quick and easy check-in. Pro-tip: take a screenshot of each of your tickets to have ready and pulled up on your phone screen! Please note: Wifi can sometimes be spotty at the front of the Museum. 

Is this event rain or shine?

Yes! The Museum will only cancel in the case of a severe weather emergency. 

 

Do I need to bring anything with me?

No, all materials needed to make this class successful will be provided to you! 

What else will be open?

Genesee Country Village & Museum will be open with a handful of staffed buildings around the Village Square from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., plus programming in the Nature Center! 

A limited food menu will be offered in the Meeting Center Lounge from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

How should I dress?

Please wear clothing suitable for baking and comfortable shoes. If you plan to visit the Historic Village after class, dress for the predicted weather conditions and wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking on gravel paths and uneven surfaces. 

You will be walking from Admissions to the workshop site and back; please be prepared for a walk through the Historic Village in the predicted weather conditions. 

What if I need a refund for my ticket?

Tickets may be refunded only up to 7 days prior to the event date and are strictly non-transferable by date, entry time, or program.
