One of our most popular workshops!

Learn how to press and paint your own traditional, edible masterpieces! Learn the technique of making a crisply stamped design that lasts through the baking process, then hand paint your cookies with natural colors! Guests will go home with their own springerle cookies and skills to last a lifetime. Participants should bring baking sheets and an apron. Please wear closed-toed shoes. 

Space is limited, and this class tends to sell out very quickly!

FAQs

Is there ample parking?

Yes! Park in any of the main lots at the front of the Museum (please leave the first two bays open for handicap parking).

Where do I check in?

The class will take place in the Thomson Barn Activity Center. Please check in at our Admissions Booth, and the workshop instructor will meet you at the Admissions Tunnel to guide you to the class location. 

How do I show my purchased tickets?

Please have your ticket(s) either printed out OR pulled up on your phone screen and ready for scanning for quick and easy check-in. Pro-tip: take a screenshot of each of your tickets to have ready and pulled up on your phone screen! Please note: Wifi can sometimes be spotty at the front of the Museum. 

Is this event rain or shine?

Yes! The Museum will only cancel in the case of a severe weather emergency. 

 

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Please bring your own baking sheets, a suitable container to transport your finished Springerle cookies home in, and an apron. All other materials needed to make this class successful will be provided to you. 

What else will be open?

Genesee Country Village & Museum will be open with a handful of staffed buildings around the Village Square from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., plus programming in the Nature Center! 

A limited food menu will be offered in the Meeting Center Lounge. 

Can I bring my dog?

Leashed service animals are welcome with proper identification. 

How should I dress?

Please wear clothing suitable for baking and comfortable shoes. If you plan to visit the Historic Village after class, dress for the predicted weather conditions and wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking on gravel paths and uneven surfaces. 

What if I need a refund for my ticket?

Tickets may be refunded only up to 7 days prior to the event date and are strictly non-transferable by date, entry time, or program.
