Learn the fundamentals of cheesemaking in one of our 19th-century kitchens! Participants will make a hard cheese and bring home skills that they can use in their own kitchens.

Tickets for this workshop will not be sold onsite and must be purchased online before October 16. 

General tickets: $100

Museum Members: $90

Ticket price includes making (and enjoying!) a mac & cheese lunch on the woodstove.

FAQs

Is there ample parking?

Yes! Park in any of the main lots at the front of the Museum. Please leave the first two bays available for handicap parking. 

Where do I check in?

You will first check in through the Admissions tunnel at the front of the Museum. Then, an Interpretation staff member will guide all participants back to the workshop site. 

How do I show my purchased tickets?

We will be checking you in by name for this workshop. However, we recommend also either printing out OR taking a screenshot of your invoice or ticket(s) as backup. 

is this event rain or shine?

Yes – this event is rain or shine! Please dress accordingly for the predicted weather conditions. We will cancel only in the case of thunderstorms or severe weather.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

No! Everything will be provided to you to make this class successful. 

Should I bring a lunch?

As part of this class, lunch is provided! 

What else will be open?

The Historic Village, Nature Center, and Flint Hill Gift Shop will all be open to visitors from 11 am – 3 pm. The Meeting Center Cafe will be open from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Can I bring my dog?

Leashed service animals are welcome with proper identification. 

How should I dress?

While this class is mostly indoors, some outdoor time and walking are required. Dress accordingly for the predicted weather conditions and wear comfortable clothing and shoes that you can walk and work in. 

What if I need a refund for my ticket?

Tickets may be refunded only up to 7 days prior to the event date and are strictly non-transferable by date, entry time, or program.
