Learn the fundamentals of cheesemaking in one of our 19th-century kitchens! Participants will make a hard cheese and bring home skills that they can use in their own kitchens.

FAQs

Is there ample parking?

Yes! Park in any of the main lots at the front of the Museum. Please leave the first two bays available for handicap parking. 

Where do I check in?

An Interpretation staff member will greet you outside of Admissions and check you in by name. One all participants have arrived, the staff member will guide the group back to the workshop site. 

How do I show my purchased tickets?

You will be checked in by the purchaser’s name for this workshop. However, we recommend either printing out OR taking a screenshot of your ticket(s) or confirmation as backup. 

Is this event rain or shine?

Yes – this event is rain or shine! Please dress accordingly for the predicted weather conditions. We will cancel only in the case of thunderstorms or severe weather.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

No! Everything will be provided to you to make this class successful. 

Should I bring a lunch?

As part of this class, lunch is provided! Participants will make and eat macaroni & cheese make over the hearth. 

If you have special dietary requests or restrictions, please feel free to bring your own bag lunch. 

What else will be open?

The Historic Village, Nature Center Trails and Building, Depot Restaurant, and Flint Hill Gift Shop will all be closed to visitors on this date. 

Can I bring my dog?

Leashed service animals are welcome with proper identification. 

How should I dress?

While this class is mostly indoors, some outdoor time and walking are required. Dress accordingly for the predicted weather conditions and wear comfortable clothing and shoes that you can walk and work in. 

What if I need a refund for my ticket?

Tickets may be refunded only up to 7 days prior to the event date and are strictly non-transferable by date, entry time, or program.
