Bring Dad to GCV&M for FREE on Father's Day!

We celebrate Father’s Day at GCV&M with a variety of family fun and activities, and FREE admission for Dad! Get up close with our historical trades at Print Office, Blacksmith, or Cooper. Speak with historical farmers about their daily tasks and meet animals on the Early Settlement Farm. Don’t miss the latest exhibit in the John L. Wehle Gallery, “Color Me Calico” (featuring some stunning men’s fancy dresswear!). 

When you need a break, stop in at Depot Restaurant for a bite to eat or treat dad to a pint of Fat Ox or Stocking Hill Ale at the Freight House Pub! Top off your visit with our sweet treats from the Confectionery. It’s all about Dad today!

Take in a vintage base ball game

Games at 11 a.m. & 1 p.m.

Take Dad out to the ball game! Head out to Silver Ball Field, our 19th-century base ball field, to catch a base ball game at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. Or, stay for both! 

Concessions will be open from11 a.m. – 3 p.m. and serving up burgers hot dogs, sweets, treats, beverages, and beer! 

Savor a historical craft beer!

Relax with Dad on the deck of the Freight House Pub or at the Pavilion Garden Restaurant and enjoy a cold one! We offer two historical beers (brewed by Rohrbach Brewing Company): Fat Ox Ale, an American Brown Ale, and Stocking Hill Ale, an American Wheat Ale. Cheers to Father’s Day! 

Annual Chicken Barbeque!

Our annual Father’s Day Chicken BBQ dinners are back, and this year, they can be purchased ahead of time! These sell out FAST – reserve yours today and receive a $1 off coupon for an ice cream at the Pavilion Garden Restaurant. 

Dinners will be available for pickup at the Carport (across from the Depot Restaurant and Freight House Pub) between 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. 

Don’t want to pre-order? Chicken BBQ Dinners can also be purchased onsite, day-of (until sold out), but only pre-purchasers will get the $1-off ice cream coupon. 

Please note that you will also need to purchase general admission tickets to the Museum. 

Explore trades in the Village!

Get up close and personal with historic trades in the Village! Stop by the Blackmith to see sparks fly, learn about what the Potter is creating, watch the Cooper at work, and so much more! 

What else is open?

  • The Depot Restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. (grill closes at 3). Stop by for a bite and cold drink!
  • Visit the Pavilion Garden Restaurant between 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. for ice cream!
  • Shop the Flint Hill Gift Shop for unique gifts, GCV&M apparel, village-made goods, homemade fudge, and more (open 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
  • Stop in at the D.B. Munger Confectionery between 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. to satisfy dad’s sweet tooth!

Will chicken bbq dinners be available for purchase onsite?

Yes, a limited number of chicken bbq dinners will be available for purchase onsite at the Carport. 

Do I need to purchase general admission tickets in addition to chicken bbq dinner tickets?

Yes, you will need to purchase admission to the Museum as well as chicken bbq tickets. 

Is there ample parking?

Parking is free and plentiful! Park in any of the main lots at the front of the Museum. Please leave the first two bays available for handicapped parking. 

How do I show my purchased tickets?

Please have your ticket(s) either printed out OR pulled up on your phone screen and ready for scanning for quick and easy check-in. Pro-tip: take a screenshot of each of your tickets to have ready and pulled up on your phone screen! Please note: Wifi can sometimes be spotty at the front of the Museum. 

Is this event rain or shine?

Yes! This event is rain or shine. The Museum will only cancel in case of a severe weather emergency.

How should I dress?

Please dress accordingly for the predicted weather conditions.  

We recommend wearing a good pair of walking shoes – there is a lot to see and do, and surfaces in the Historic Village (brick paths, cobblestone, grass), can be uneven. 

Are service animals welcome?

Yes! Leashed service animals are welcome with proper identification. 

What if I need a refund for my ticket?

We’re sorry to hear that you’re not able to attend! Tickets may be refunded only up to 7 days prior to the event date and are strictly non-transferable by date, entry time, or program.
