Bring your own bag dinner, enjoy engaging games and creative crafts, explore the wonders of a night-time Historic Village tour, and relax with refreshing tavern drinks and tasty snacks. Gather around a cozy campfire to share stories, savor a hearty breakfast, and embark on a scenic hike. It’s the perfect opportunity to create lasting memories together!

FAQs

What is the earliest I can arrive?

Check-in will begin at 5 p.m.! 

Is there ample parking?

Parking is free and plentiful! Park in any of the main lots at the front of the Museum. Please leave the first two bays available for handicapped parking. 

Where do I check in?

Check-in will be through the Admissions tunnel, at the front of the Museum. 

How do I show my purchased tickets?

You will be checked in under the purchaser’s name for this event. However, we also recommend either printing out OR taking a screenshot of your invoice or ticket(s) as backup. 

Is this event rain or shine?

Yes! This event is rain or shine. The Museum will only cancel in case of a severe weather emergency.

How should I dress?

Please dress accordingly for the predicted weather conditions.  

We recommend wearing a good pair of walking shoes – there is a lot to see and do, and surfaces in the Historic Village (brick paths, cobblestone, grass), can be uneven. 

Are service animals welcome?

Yes! Leashed service animals are welcome with proper identification. 

What if I need a refund for my ticket?

We’re sorry to hear that you’re not able to attend! Tickets may be refunded only up to 7 days prior to the event date and are strictly non-transferable by date, entry time, or program.

Can we bring our own food?

Yes! Feel free to bring a picnic dinner or breakfast. 

PLEASE NOTE: Glass containers, outside alcohol, and fires are strictly prohibited. 

What should we bring to the sleepover?
  • Sleeping Bag 
  • Sleeping pad for under your sleeping bag
  • Pillow
  • Tent (optional)
  • Flashlight (optional)
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Washcloth
  • Warm, comfortable clothing to sleep in
  • Ear plugs (optional)
  • Night mask (optional)
Where do we sleep?

Guests will have the choice to pitch their own tents in the Great Meadow. Guests without tents can enjoy the indoor space in our Meeting Center. 

What types of food will be served at the sleepover?

In the evening, we will provide modern and historical soft drinks in the tavern with pretzels and goldfish crackers. 

In the morning, we will provide a light breakfast including fruit, cereal, muffins, coffee, tea, and juice.

The Freight House Pub will be open from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. for beverages and light fare. 

Can we visit the Museum the next day?

Yes! Admission to the Museum for the following day is included. Please be sure to go through the admissions booth for a hang tag, which will get you access to the rest of the Museum.

Is there a place to store sleeping equipment after the sleep over?

Whether you are planning to depart in the morning or you choose to stay to visit the day after your sleepover, please plan to pack your sleeping items in your car before we set out on our hike at 9:00am.
