Learn with our Curatorial Team!
Join us in the Town Hall of the Historic Village for a Museum Mount Making Workshop. This hands-on workshop educates participants on how to make a museum-quality storage/archival mount for antique or vintage headwear, garments, or objects.
Participants are provided the materials for their object and take the mount home with them! Each ticket covers the cost of materials for one museum-quality archival storage mount. Participants must be able to use scissors, hot glue guns, and small blades.
Participants must specify when purchasing their ticket what object, hat, or garment they are bringing and send that information to bbrooks@gcv.org
Location: Historic Village Town Hall
Workshop takeaways
Caring for and managing historic objects requires custom-made archival garment, hat, or object mounts, which can be prohibitively costly. This hands-on workshop will walk participants through creating museum-quality garment archival mounts that are cost-effective. Participants are encouraged to bring with them a garment, hat, or object stable enough for hanging for which the mount will be custom-made. Archival, museum-quality materials for one mount are included in the cost of the ticket. Participants will take their custom-made archival mounts with them!
Ticket Information
Tickets for this workshop must be purchased online before Thursday, July 10.
