Sweet & Savory Pasties & Pies Workshop

Blend traditions with tasty creations in a historic kitchen!

Elevate your culinary skills by mastering the art of pie and dough-making! Join us for an enchanting experience as you create delectable pasties (like our celebrated hand-pies!) and indulge in the creation of exquisite sweet tarts, all on a charming 19th-century woodstove. You’ll walk away with a delightful selection of your own small pies and our cherished trade secrets to bring the magic home. Plus, each participant will take home a beautifully crafted pie plate made by our talented potters right here at GCV&M.

FAQs

Is there ample parking?

Yes! Park in any of the main lots at the front of the Museum. Please leave the first two bays available for handicap parking. 

Where do I check in?

You will be checked in through the Meeting Center Lounge, to the immediate right of the Admissions tunnel when facing the front of the Museum. 

How do I show my purchased tickets?

You will be checked in by name for this workshop. However, we recommend either printing out OR taking a screenshot of your invoice or ticket(s) as backup. 

is this event rain or shine?

Yes! The Museum will only cancel this workshop by order of Monroe County. 

Do I need to bring anything with me?

You may bring your own apron if you wish. Everything else will be provided to you to make this class successful. 

You may also want to bring a container or box to help you transport your pies and pie plate home. 

What else will be open?

The Museum will be closed for spring cleaning at this time. The Historic Village, Nature Center, John L. Wehle, Flint Hill Gift Shop, and restaurants will all be closed to visitors. 

Can I bring my dog?

Leashed service animals are welcome with proper identification. 

How should I dress?

You will be standing for the majority of this class, and walking from Admissions to the workshop site and back. Please wear closed-toe shoes and dress appropriately for the predicted weather conditions. 

What if I need a refund for my ticket?

Tickets may be refunded only up to 7 days prior to the event date and are strictly non-transferable by date, entry time, or program.
