Springerle Workshop

One of our most popular workshops!

Learn how to press and paint your own traditional, edible masterpieces! Learn the technique of making a crisply stamped design that lasts through the baking process, then hand paint your cookies! Guests will go home with their own beautifully hand-crafted mold, cookies and skills to last a lifetime. Participants should bring baking sheets and an apron. Please wear closed-toed shoes.

Recommended Age: 16 and up (Youth must be accompanied by a paid adult).

FAQs

Is there ample parking?

Yes! Park in any of the main lots at the front of the Museum (please leave the first two bays open for handicap parking).

Where do I check in?

Check-in will be through the Admissions tunnel at the front of the Museum. Your instructor will greet you there, then guide the entire group back to the workshop site. 

Please note: you will be walking from Admissions to the workshop site and back. Please dress for the predicted weather conditions and wear appropriate footwear for the weather and walking. 

How do I show my purchased tickets?

We will be checking you in by name, but please still have your ticket(s) or confirmation invoice printed or available on your phone. Pro tip: take a screenshot of your ticket(s) or confirmation; WIFI is very spotty at the front of the Museum. 

Is this event rain or shine?

Yes! The Museum will only cancel in the case of a severe weather emergency. 

 

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Please bring your own baking sheets and an apron. All other materials needed to make this class successful will be provided to you. 

You will be sitting for the majority of this class. If needed, feel free to bring a cushion to help make  yourself comfortable. 

What else will be open?

Genesee Country Village & Museum will be open with a handful of staffed buildings around the Village Square from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., plus, explore the John L. Wehle Art Gallery from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.! 

A limited food menu will be offered in the Meeting Center Lounge. 

Can I bring my dog?

Leashed service animals are welcome with proper identification. 

How should I dress?

Clothes and shoes suitable for baking are preferable, but not required. If you plan to visit the Historic Village after the workshop, dress for the predicted weather conditions and wear appropriate footwear for walking brick or gravel pathways. 

 

What if I need a refund for my ticket?

Tickets may be refunded only up to 7 days prior to the event date and are strictly non-transferable by date, entry time, or program.
