GCV&M’s 2024 Summer Teacher Workshops are FREE, half-day programs focused on history, art, and science. Educators will learn about ways to incorporate GCV&M’s collections, 19th-century Historic Village, and Nature Center into their curriculum.

Nature Workshop

Nature Rocks! is an interactive, inquiry-based field trip immersed in the Museum’s woodland and meadow habitats, focused on how nature changes over time. See what GCV&M’s Nature Center has to offer your students through this field trip, which is offered late into fall and early in the spring.
Art Workshop
August 7, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
New for the 2024-25 school year, Framing History and Framing Nature enrichments pair art with social studies and science curriculum requirements. Learn how a visit to the John L. Wehle Gallery can enhance your students’ field trip experience! Plus enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the Museum’s vaults.
History Workshop
August 21, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Learn about treaties related to the Haudenosaunee in the Land Office, then visit the Nathaniel Rochester House to hear how GCV&M is interpreting WNY’s history of enslavement and the fight for freedom. These new stories are now included in a self-guided field trip experience in the 2024-2025 school year!
