With the coming of November begins preparations for the cold months ahead! See the agricultural tasks at hand and preservation of food for the winter happening in our Historic Village. Explore some of our favorite historic buildings open during fall weekends: Hetchler House and the Pioneer Farm, Jones Farm, Hosmer’s Inn, Hamilton House, Hyde House, and the Blacksmith’s Shop.
Explore a new exhibit in the John L. Wehle Gallery – Becoming Gendered: Garment as Gender Artifact. Plus, our Nature Center and 5+ miles of trails will be open for fall hikes and out door explorations. Shop seasonal favorites in the Flint Hill Store, and swing by the Freight House Pub to recharge and relax with a historical craft beverage and snack. Don’t miss this!
Please note: a limited number of buildings will be open and staffed for these extended seasonal days and hours, and our food service capacity will be limited to drinks and snacks in the Freight House Pub.
Plus, all Veterans will receive free admission on this weekend!

See the change of seasons around the Village, explore what’s being harvested from heirloom gardens, smell what’s cooking in Jones Farm Kitchen, play historic games on the Village Square, begin your holiday shopping in the Flint Hill Store, and more!
Today, families can enjoy Parent & Me Storytime in the Nature Center from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.!

November is the perfect time to peruse the Flint Hill Store and shop hand-crafted goods made right here at GCV&M! Hear the clang of the blacksmith’s hammer, smell what’s cooking in historic kitchens, warm up with a cup of coffee in Hosmer’s Inn, and enjoy a snack and a historical craft beverage in the Freight House Pub.
Plus, stop in the John L. Wehle Gallery to explore “Becoming Gendered: Garment as Gender Artifact,” or make your way over to the Nature Center for a fall foliage hike on our 5+ miles of nature trails!

Parking is free and plentiful! Park in any of the main lots at the front of the Museum. Please leave the first two bays available for handicapped parking.
Check-in will be at the front of the Museum. You can also purchase tickets for this event in the Admissions tunnel.

Yes – this event is rain or shine! Please dress accordingly for the predicted weather conditions. We will cancel only in the case of thunderstorms or severe weather.

We recommend wearing a good pair of walking shoes – there is a lot to see and do, and surfaces in the Historic Village (brick paths, cobblestone, grass), can be uneven.
