SUMMARY:Big Night for Salamanders (SOLD OUT)
DESCRIPTION:Every spring\, on the first warm rainy night\, the mole salamanders emerge from their hidden homes to make the long journey to the vernal pool to reproduce. Join us for a night hike to the vernal pool to look for migrating salamanders. The evening will end with a campfire and a reading of the beautiful story “Big Night for Salamanders” by Sarah Lamstein \nFrequently Asked Questions: \nArrival & check-in: \n\nParking is free and plentiful! Park in any of the main lots at the front of the Museum\, then walk over to the Nature Center.\nThis event takes place entirely at the Nature Center. The Historic Village\, Flint Hill Gift Shop\, John L. Wehle Gallery\, and Depot Restaurant are all closed during this event but we hope you’ll come back another time.\nWe will check you in by name for this event. However\, we recommend either printing out or taking a screenshot of your ticket(s) or invoice as backup.\nDoors will open at 6:30. You should arrive and be checked in for your guided hike no later than 15 minutes prior to the start time.\n\nOther information: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis is a one-mile guided night-hike through the woods. Dress appropriately for the predicted weather conditions and wear appropriate footwear.\nYou can bring your own flashlight; extra will be available at check-in.\nPlease do not use any bug sprays containing DEET on the day of your hike – look for DEET-free alternatives.\nTickets are refundable only up to 7 days prior to the event date. All GCV&M tickets are strictly non-transferable by program. No exceptions will be made.\nTickets are no longer available for this event and are NOT available for purchase at the gate.
