We invite you to tour spaces and buildings representing home\, civic\, social\, economic\, farm\, and religious life throughout the 1800s. \nBe sure to visit Nathaniel Rochester House (#12)\, open every day\, to delve into the real and often untold history of enslavement and freedom in the Genesee Country. \nHISTORIC COOKING & BAKING \nSee\, touch\, and smell what’s cooking in our historic kitchens! \nVisit Jones Farm (#14) to learn about 1850s farmhouse life\, where meals are prepared from the garden\, either fresh or preserved. \nStop into the Livingston-Backus House (#38)\, where the cook would have had access to the Public Market after the Erie Canal was built. \nHISTORIC TRADESHOPS \nVisit and talk with our trades folks who both practice and preserve timeless skills like pottery\, woodcraft\, ironwork\, quilting\, and more. \nAGRICULTURE & GARDENS \nA variety of heritage animal breeds can be found throughout the Village at the Hetchler House & Early Settlement Farm (#6)\, the Livery Barn (#11)\, and Jones Farm (#14). \nMake sure to explore historic gardens throughout the Village\, flourishing with both food and flowers! Animals and plants are for viewing only – please don’t feed\, trample\, touch\, or pick. \nJOHN L. This compelling narrative revolves around the shocking abduction of William Morgan by rogue Freemasons\, sparked by his bold intention to defy their stringent rules of secrecy and unveil the Brotherhood’s hidden truths. Known as “The Morgan Affair\,” this dramatic event became the catalyst for the birth of America’s very first third political party: the Anti-Masons. \nThe story of William Morgan’s mysterious disappearance brims with unanswered questions\, unsettling fears of governmental corruption\, and a whirlwind of political fervor. Led by a knowledgeable historic interpreter\, you will encounter firsthand accounts from witnesses\, opportunistic politicians\, and everyday citizens\, each sharing their unique perspectives on this pivotal moment that indelibly transformed American politics. Don’t miss the chance to experience history come alive! \n\nThe Museum will close to the public between 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. so that we can reset for the evening; doors will open for After-Hours Tours at 5 p.m.\nYou will not be allowed into the Historic Village until/unless you are on your guided tour.\nTours will launch from the Freight House every 30 minutes.\nGuests will be on their feet for the duration of the tour and should be prepared to navigate stairs and uneven ground.\nPlease note food & beverages are not included in the cost of this ticket and require additional purchase. Food and beverage are not allowed on the tour.
