We invite you to tour spaces and buildings representing home\, civic\, social\, economic\, farm\, and religious life throughout the 1800s. \nBe sure to visit Nathaniel Rochester House (#12)\, open every day\, to delve into the real and often untold history of enslavement and freedom in the Genesee Country. \nHISTORIC COOKING & BAKING \nSee\, touch\, and smell what’s cooking in our historic kitchens! \nVisit Jones Farm (#14) to learn about 1850s farmhouse life\, where meals are prepared from the garden\, either fresh or preserved. \nStop into the Livingston-Backus House (#38)\, where the cook would have had access to the Public Market after the Erie Canal was built. \nHISTORIC TRADESHOPS \nVisit and talk with our trades folks who both practice and preserve timeless skills like pottery\, woodcraft\, ironwork\, quilting\, and more. \nAGRICULTURE & GARDENS \nA variety of heritage animal breeds can be found throughout the Village at the Hetchler House & Early Settlement Farm (#6)\, the Livery Barn (#11)\, and Jones Farm (#14). \nMake sure to explore historic gardens throughout the Village\, flourishing with both food and flowers! Animals and plants are for viewing only – please don’t feed\, trample\, touch\, or pick. \nJOHN L. SUMMARY:Hosmer’s Inn Historic Dinner
DESCRIPTION:Join our historical cooks as they serve an authentic 19th-century meal in historic Hosmer’s Inn\, located in our Historic Village. Guests will play parlor games and enjoy a full seven-course dinner (served family style). Guests are welcome to bring one bottle of wine of their choice. \nFrequently Asked Questions:  \nArrival & check-in:  \n\nParking is free and plentiful! Park in any of the main lots at the front of the  Museum.\nAn interpretation staff member will greet you outside of Admissions and check you in by the purchaser’s name. We recommend also either printing out OR taking a screenshot of your invoice or ticket(s) as backup.\nOnce all participants have arrived\, the staff member will guide the group back to Hosmer’s Inn in the Historic Village. Dress for the predicted weather conditions and wear sturdy walking shoes.\nGuest transport will be available for guests unable to walk long distances. Please inform the staff member upon check-in that you require transport.\n\nOther Information:  \n\nDue to the nature of this program. special dietary requests and restrictions cannot be met. Thank you for your understanding.\nThe rest of the Museum\, including the Historic Village\, will be closed during this event but we hope you’ll return another time.\nTickets for this event are absolutely non-refundable and non-transferable by date\, entry time\, or program. If you find that you are unable to join us\, feel free to give your tickets to friends or family – just make sure they check in under the purchaser’s name.\n\n
