DESCRIPTION:Join us receiving the generosity of seeds and growing community as we compost scarcity mindsets and sow seeds to surround us all with abundance for generations to come! After sharing Fruition’s 1-hour Gift of Seed practice\, we’ll dive into the hands-on experience of seed sowing. \nAs you’re able and inspired\, bring potting mix (preferably organic)\, containers and labels for yourself as well as others to share. (These are the materials we’ll all be going home with\, so bring the joy as well as generosity!) We’ll talk pros and cons of diverse potting mixes and containers as we get our hands dirty with the key principles and practices to successfully starting seeds indoors. If there are other seeds\, transplants\, garden tools and other delights to gift your fellow gardeners\, bring them along and share the love! \nExperience is limited to 40. DESCRIPTION:This guided tour for homeschool families explores the world of STEM – from simple machines to 19th-century currency\, to ratios and math needed to change recipes in the kitchens. Students will use modern day methods to solve 19th-century problems. \nGroups will rotate through a series of 7 stations that have your kiddos: \n\nWatch colors change before your eyes as you learn the science behind dyeing wool to make colorful yarn\nDe-code a message in the telegraph office\nPractice math skills in a historic kitchen and manipulate a historic “receipt”\nMove your body using 19th century calisthenics routine to understand how specific movements became a popular health trend\nExperience how items were bought and traded in a 19th century general store using 19th century money\nLearn how women in the 19th century practiced science\, and try your botanical art skills alongside a visiting artist from the M.A.G.\n\nFrequently Asked Questions \n\nArrival & Check-in: \nParking is free and plentiful! Park in any of the main lots at the front of the  Museum. The first two bays are available for handicapped parking.\nYou will check in through the Admissions Tunnel at the front of the Museum.\nWIFI is unreliable at the front of the Museum. We recommend either printing out OR taking a screenshot of your ticket(s) or invoice and have them ready to present before getting to Admissions.\n\nFood & Shopping:  \n\nThe Museum is closed to visitors on this date\, but we hope you’ll come back another time to visit.\nYou are welcome to bring a bag lunch and eat on the Great Meadow or in the Depot Restaurant. DESCRIPTION:Every spring\, on the first warm rainy night\, the mole salamanders emerge from their hidden homes to make the long journey to the vernal pool to reproduce. Join us for a night hike to the vernal pool to look for migrating salamanders. The evening will end with a campfire and a reading of the beautiful story “Big Night for Salamanders” by Sarah Lamstein \nFrequently Asked Questions: \nArrival & check-in: \n\nParking is free and plentiful! Park in any of the main lots at the front of the Museum\, then walk over to the Nature Center.\nThis event takes place entirely at the Nature Center. The Historic Village\, Flint Hill Gift Shop\, John L. Wehle Gallery\, and Depot Restaurant are all closed during this event but we hope you’ll come back another time.\nWe will check you in by name for this event. However\, we recommend either printing out or taking a screenshot of your ticket(s) or invoice as backup.\nDoors will open at 6:30. You should arrive and be checked in for your guided hike no later than 15 minutes prior to the start time.\n\nOther information: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis is a one-mile guided night-hike through the woods.
