What was life like?

Immerse yourself in the 19th-century and spend one or two days with a village craftsman doing a Living History Experience.

Experiences are offered May-October at a date to be determined at the mutual convenience of the participant and instructor. For ages 14 and up.

Blacksmithing Experience

Spend two days working alongside one our talented blacksmiths. Learn the techniques of this important trade while completing a project of your choice to take home. A costume is provided to make your 19th-century blacksmith experience complete.

Coopering Experience

Spend two days working as an apprentice to our talented cooper. Using 19th-century tools, learn the techniques needed to complete your own wooden bucket. A costume is provided to make your 19th-century coopering experience complete.

Tinsmithing Experience

Spend the day beside one of our knowledgeable tinsmiths. Learn how to cut, fold, hem, shape and solder tin plate. Complete a project to take home using the basic techniques of this important trade. A costume is provided to make your 19th-century tinsmith experience complete.
