$3,000 by November 1 is our goal!

After nearly 40 years of welcoming museum guests, Erastus and Julia Hyde’s octagonal-shaped house is almost done with its first major restoration since it was moved to our site in 1978. The old roof has been replaced with new cypress shingles, a period-appropriate gutter system has been installed, the chimney has been capped, the finial encased in copper, and the windows and shutters have been repaired.

The final step is to paint the entire house, but funding is still needed.

Thank you to everyone who has donated and helped us get to this point
—we are so excited about how far this project has come!

We have raised a total of $100,000 to date, all thanks to the support of our community.

If we can raise an additional $3,000 by November 1, then we can complete the painting before winter sets in.

Please help us by donating now – any amount is helpful!

We truly appreciate your participation – you are making a lasting impact on the landscape of Genesee Country Village & Museum for the next 40 years, at least!

Thank you for your generous support.

If you wish to donate an alternate amount, please call the Development Office at 585-294-8253. Thank you!
