Upstairs Downstairs After-Hours Tours

Our popular Upstairs/Downstairs tours are back! Museum experts provide special access to upstairs, downstairs, and behind barriers, providing guests with an experience above and beyond the day-to-day offerings within the Historic Village. These exclusive tours will emphasize room use and will illuminate the daily experiences of our buildings’ former inhabitants.

Frequently Asked Questions: 

Arrival & Check-in: 

• Parking is free and plentiful! Park in any of the main lots at the front of the Museum. The first two bays are available for handicapped parking.
• Doors will open at 5 p.m. for check-in and dining. Please do not arrive before 5 p.m. – the Museum will be closed.
• You will check in through the Admissions tunnel at the front of the Museum.
• You will be checked in by the purchaser’s name for this event. However, we recommend also printing out OR taking a screenshot of your ticket or invoice as backup and having it ready to present before arriving at Admissions.

Food & Shopping: 

• The Freight House Pub will be open from 5 – 7 p.m. with light fare and beverages! Come early and grab a quick bite before embarking on your guided tour.
• The Flint Hill Gift Shop will be closed at this time.

Other Information: 

• The Historic Village, Nature Center, and Gallery will be closed to visitors for this event, but we hope you come back another time to explore at your own pace.
• This event is rain or shine! Dress for the predicted weather conditions and wear sturdy footwear.
• This is a guided walking tour – guest transport is not available.
• Videography, professional photography, and drone usage are strictly prohibited.
• Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited past the front parking lots.
• We allow leashed, certified service animals with proper identification. We do not allow pets.
• Tickets were refundable only up to 7 days prior to the event date. All GCV&M tickets are non-transferable by program. No exceptions will be made.
