Program offered: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays year-round (virtual)
This program is appropriate for Grades K – 3.
Travel through a century of American life during a virtual tour of the Historic Village. Along the way, participants will compare and contrast the homes and lives of people from the beginning to the end of the 1800s. Stops include the Pioneer Farm to see what it took to be a self-sufficient settler in Western New York. Discover what school was like in the past at our One-Room Schoolhouse. Watch as our Village Potter demonstrates how to turn a lump of clay into a useful household container. Explore Hyde House, an octagon-shaped residence, and observe the home’s 19th-century technology.
This is a live virtual program hosted by educators at GCV&M via Zoom that can be easily broadcast into your classroom, community center, library, or anywhere you’d like to learn!
