Stroll the Historic Village where preparations are underway for the cold season ahead. Students will learn about how the needs and duties of 19-century New Yorkers shifted as they prepared for the season to come. See traditional crafts, harvesting tasks, winterizing homes, and food preparations in the 200-year-old historic kitchens.

Warm up in the Village!
Preparing for Winter opportunities include:
- Make a candle the old-fashioned way and take it home with you
- Taste popcorn using a 19th-century popcorn popper, cooked over a hearth
- Learn through smell and conversation in our Historic kitchens
- Talk with an interpreter about how meat was smoked to keep through the winter without refrigeration
