Historic Trades

Practice & Preservation

GCV&M’s trades shops feature interpreters who both practice and preserve timeless skills like pottery, woodcraft, ironwork, quilting, and more. The program researches, recreates, and preserves the historical trades of the 19th century Genesee Valley Region, exploring the artisans who practiced them to instill awareness and respect for different cultures who have made a life in this place.
