Donate an object
Thank you for considering GCV&M!
We appreciate your desire to help us grow the collection at Genesee Country Village & Museum, and are happy to chat with you about the object you are considering donating!
We will consider historic objects (decorative and fine art, antiques, other 19th-century artifacts that illuminate the lives of residents of the Genesee Valley Region) up to 1890. We will consider historic costume (clothing and accessories) up to 1910.
We do not accept natural history specimens, prehistoric material, or vehicles. We do not accept drop-offs, and are only able to accept pre-approved objects that have been discussed with curatorial staff. Unclaimed property will be processed through the Office of the NYS Comptroller’s Museum or Military Abandoned Property Law.
Genesee Country Village & Museum is actively committed to broadening the narratives and cultural perspectives represented in the collection. We seek to responsibly curate and expand the stories we tell to better reflect the rich diversity of the 19th century in New York State.
