2023 Season Preview (Saturday, May 6, at 11 a.m. in the Meeting Center) 
Begin the season with the Museum’s very own Becky Wehle, President & CEO. Becky will chat about the upcoming 2023 season and what is ahead for GCV&M. Enjoy an exclusive Q&A as well as light refreshments.

Privy Tour (Wednesday, May 17, at 11 a.m. in the Historic Village)
Have you ever wondered where 19th-century folks went when they had to… go? Join us on this incredibly informative tour through the Historic Villages’ outhouses, privies, and latrines to discover the answer.

Spring Garden Tour (Wednesday, May 31, at 11 a.m. or 6:30 p.m. in the Historic Village)
Spring is in the air and summer is around the corner. Celebrate the warm weather with a guided tour through beautiful blooms and learn about the history of gardens throughout the 19th century. This tour will be led by Historic Gardener Emily Conable. Click here to learn more about our heirloom gardens. 

Hoop, Hoop, Hooray: An 1860s Historical Get-Ready-With-Me (Wednesday, June 14, at 3 p.m. or 6:30 p.m.)
From corsets to cage crinolines, petticoats and parasols – discover what made an 1860s lady fashionable! Join historical interpreter Anneliese Meck for a live “get-ready-with-me” and learn about each layer, from underwear to outerwear, that created the remarkable 60’s silhouette.

FOUNDER’S CIRCLE MEMBERS ONLY: “Pardon our Dust” Hike (Sunday, June 25, at 11 a.m. in the Nature Center)
Join Nature Center Director Adam Henne for a preview of the Nature Center renovation as well as a guided hike on the nature trails. The member tour at 11 a.m. will stay at the Nature Center and the 2 p.m. Founder’s Circle group will make their way over to The Lodge. 

Share-The-Museum Days and Celebrating Chocolate Weekend (Saturday, July 15, & Sunday, July 16, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
Bring a friend, or two, to enjoy Celebrating Chocolate Weekend for FREE! If they become members, they receive a 10% discount on the cost of their new membership! No reservations required.

Highlights from the Collection (Sunday, July 23, at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. in Davis Hall)
Join Collections Manager Amanda Wilck, to explore some of the most intriguing, unique, and incredible artifacts from the Museum’s extensive collection. Reservations open on Monday, July 3.

Summer Garden Tour (Wednesday, August 9, at 11 a.m. or 6:30 p.m. in the Historic Village) 
Come walk through our heirloom gardens (at their peak in the summertime!) with Historic Gardener Emily Conable. We will be talking about heirloom vegetables, harvesting, herbs, everlastings, and deadheading. Reservations open on Monday, July 3.

FOUNDER’S CIRCLE MEMBERS ONLY: Historic Village Trolley Tour (Friday, August 11, at 10 a.m. or 11:30 a.m.)
Sit back and relax as you enjoy a fascinating trolley tour around the Historic Village led by the Museum’s Philip K. Wehrheim Curator of Collections, Peter Wisbey.

Pioneer Farm Tour (Sunday, August 27, at 1 p.m. on the Pioneer Settlement)
Join our Historic Farmer for a behind-the-scenes tour of the Pioneer Farm! Meet our heirloom farm animals and get a peek into some historic farm operations not generally seen by the public. Reservations open on Monday, August 7.

Kitchen Tour (Thursday, September 21, at 11 a.m. in the Historic Village)
Your visits to GCV&M may have included seeing several of our kitchens in good use, but what about all the other kitchens on site? Take a tour with a knowledgeable Historic Cook Amy Hanley-Dykstra and learn about all the kitchens you don’t see every day. Click here to learn more about our historic kitchens. Reservations open on Monday, August 7.

Mystery Building Tour (Sunday, September 24, at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. in the Historic Village)
Be one of the few who will get a full top-to-bottom house tour with behind-the-scenes access to typically off-limits areas, plus have your questions answered by our Collections Manager, Amanda Wilck! Reservations open on Monday, August 7.

John L. Wehle Gallery Tour (Saturday, October 14, at 11 a.m. in the Gallery)
Have a final opportunity to take a look at our current exhibits in the John L. Wehle Gallery with Curator Brandon Brooks as well as a behind-the-scenes tour of the Gallery Vaults. On view: Duck, Duck, Shoot! The Story of American Waterbirds (ending its run in the 2023 season), and Becoming Gendered: Garment as Gender Artifact, NEW for the 2023 season. Reservations open on Monday, September 11.
