Am I allowed to visit when the Museum is closed?

No. Regardless of Membership status, when the Museum is closed, we do not allow any visitors on the grounds. This is due to safety and insurance reasons. 

What is your videography/professional photography/drone usage policy?
  • Videography is strictly prohibited.
  • Professional photography is strictly prohibited unless prior arrangements have been made. If you are looking to hold a photo session at the Museum, you MUST contact rvolna@gcv.org or call 585-294-8258 to discuss our fees, policies, and waivers. Sessions must be arranged at least two weeks in advance. 
  • If you are looking to fly your drone at the Museum, you must contact rvolna@gcv.org or call 585-294-8258 to discuss our policies and waivers. Done usage is limited to select hours and must be arranged at least two weeks in advance.

Can I bring my pet?

No. We allow leashed, certified service animals with proper identification. We do NOT allow pets. 

Additionally, any vehicles found to have pets left in them unattended will have the Sheriff’s Department called on them. 

Am I allowed to smoke or vape?

No. Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited past the front parking lot. You will need to exit to your vehicle to smoke or vape. 

Where do I park?

Parking is free and plentiful Park in any of the main lots at the front of the Museum. The first two bays are reserved for handicapped parking. 

Where do I check in?

Unless otherwise stated, you will check in through the Admissions tunnel at the front of the Museum. 

How do I show my pre-purchased ticket?

WIFI is unreliable at the front of the Museum. We recommend either printing our OR taking a screenshot of your ticket(s) or invoice and having them ready to present before getting to Admissions to make the check-in process fast and easy. 

Why can’t I get the Member pricing for this event?
  • Is your Membership current? 
  • We have a new ticketing system. Did you verify your Membership and get your new Membership card/number? (Click here to learn how to do so)
  • If you still need assistance, please call the Membership Department directly at 585-294-8253. 
I can’t get the website to get past a certain point.

You may be experiencing a browser or internet access issue. Try another device or a different browser. (Your browser is, for example, Google Chrome, Safari, Explorer, etc.). 

There may be too many people on the website at once. Refresh the webpage and try again in a few minutes! 

Do I need to create an account to order from shop.gcv.org?

No! You do not have to create an account on our ticketing site unless you are a Museum Member. 

My credit card was denied, should I hit purchase again?

NO, don’t do this! Check to make sure all of your information is entered correctly (name, mailing address, phone number, credit card information). If all of the information entered is correct, please call the Museum Registrar at (585) 294-8218 for assistance.

My order went through, but I did not receive a confirmation email or my tickets. What do I do?

Don’t worry! Check your email’s spam and junk folders first. Any emails you will have received will come from ticketing@gcv.org. If you still don’t see your invoice and tickets, please call 585-294-8218.

I need a refund on my ticket purchase.

We’re sorry to hear you can no longer join us! 

Some tickets are absolutely non-refundable for any reason (Spirits of the Past, Yuletide, and Historic Dining). Most tickets are refundable only up to 7 days prior to the event date. Go to the event page and read the ticket policy for that event before requesting a refund. 

If your ticket qualifies for a refund, please call 585-294-8218 or email info@gcv.org with your name and order number. 

If your ticket does not qualify for a refund, you’re welcome to give them to a friend or family member. Just make sure they check in under the purchaser’s name.

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

Yes! You may bring your own bag lunch to picnic around the Great Meadow. We do not allow outside alcohol, glass containers, or any grills/fire.
