Bar pin, probably gold-filled. A central tube is filled at both ends with graduated balls encrusted with designs made of twisted wire and tiny balls of gold. There is a central plaque on which is engraved a rose with leaves and possibly a butterfly. At top there is more granulation (beads of gold) and twisted wire-work decorating the outside of this plaque. The back of this pin is open allowing one to see the hand soldering . This pin reflects Etruscan Revival design. Tube hinge and c clasp. Pin stem extends beyond the clasp. 2 3/8" long. 3/4" wide
