Wooden baked goods crate from the bread company of Daniel M. Anthony of Rochester, NY. The sides are printed with "D. M. A. / Baked Goods / D. M. Anthony / Rochester, N.Y. The crate once had leather hinges but at some point a metal hinge was added when those gave out.

D. M. Anthony (1836-1923) owned "D. M. A." a popular bread company. The company was established circa1865 when he and his brother bought out the Aerated Bread Company. He was so popular he expanded into a three story building in 1891. The company was sold to the National Biscuit Company in 1898.
