Dress
Clothing/Dress/Costume
Dress, possibly for bathing, of dark brown polished/glazed cotton, lined with a slightly lighter brown polished cotton in the bodice, made as separate layers in front, where they open; neither layer has apparent closures above the waist. Turn-down collar attached only to outer layer. Drawstring channels at natural waist, to tie at front, with self-fabric buttons down front slit of skirt. Ends of short self-fabric belt meet at center front, likely intending to fasten with straight pins (like bodice). Skirt gathered to bodice. Long, straight sleeves. Hand sewn.
