The Pure Gold Manufacturing Company, (A. B. Newman’s Pure Gold products), produced spices and baking powder, originated in the 1870s. Based in Fairport, NY, the firm's milling operation was purchased by R.T. French (circa 1883) following a serendipitous visit, laying the groundwork for the future expansion of the R.T. French Company.
