A silk and satin quilt made by Eliza Jane Eldridge of Angelica, New York. The quilt style is called "Pineapple Log Cabin" or "Windmill Blades". Eliza Jane was born on May 2, 1850, in Angelica, New York to Henry Wright Eldridge and Caroline Henrietta Scheank Eldridge. Eliza was a dressmaker and worked out of her home on Mechanic Street in Angelica. It is believed she used scraps of the clothes she made for this quilt. Eliza died on May 31, 1912 and is buried in Until the Dawn Cemetery in Angelica. This is a small, light weight quilt, perhaps used as a lap quilt or table covering.
