Stool
Object/Artifact
One three board stool with a single stretcher made of Chestnut. Front and back edges of top are molded with decorative edging and a decorative hole is cut in the center of the top for convenience of carrying the stool from place to place. The top is dove-tailed to the two slab sides and a single thin stretcher is likewise dovetailed to the bottoms of each side for stability. The sides are attached to the top with at slight outward angle and are cut in a decorative manner to give them a fiddle shape in outline. This may be of Dutch or German origin, possibly Pennsylvania-German.
