Four-piece wedding dress enesemble of Anna D. Davis & Charles T. Terrell - Married on June 24th, 1896. Ensemble consists of four pieces - bodice, skirt, detachable collar, and bow, all of pale cream China silk satin. Bodice features large sleeve puffs near sleeve cap, which narrow into forarm sleeves. Triple truned silk at wrists and collar and waist terminate edges. CF closur eof hook sand eyes. Inside is lined with twill-weave cotton, with stays all acround waist section. Machined with inernal seems finished by hand. Hooks at CB inside to hold up skirt. Skirt is of same China silk satin, lined with loose-woven cotton tarlatan. CF back gauging, with CB closure of hook and eye. Hem is bound with cream twill tape. INner hem flounce of tarlatan trimmed in machined cotton bobbin lace. Wasitband of white plain weave cotton. Small train in back Collar is of matching silk satin with hooks and eyes in center back with inner stiff fabric. Bow is of sam silk satin wtih overlaoy of machined bobbinette lace in white silk.
