Deep gold-colored metal frame with micro-mosaic glass tesserae in form of flower embedded into goldstone. The frame is surrounded by leaves and flowers set on small metal arches. The one-piece safety clasp and round hinge has probably replaced the original clasp and hinge. Although there is a later patent for the one-piece assembly of clasp/hinge/pin, elements of this brooch, such as the elaborate metal work, the ring to make it into a pendant, and the tiny tesserae all point to it being a Victorian piece. 1 1/2" long 1 1/4" wide
