Delicate openwork marked 10K gold. A small, round, faceted stone, possibly a garnet is held elevated in a "buttercup" setting, with 6 prongs rising out of a scalloped base. Late Victorian design. The long pin stem is attached at the top back. On the pin stem is stamped OB10K, which is the hallmark for Otsby & Barton Jewelry Co, 10K gold. 2 1/8" long

Oval, bezel set, faceted pink rhinestone set between two wavy-ridged pieces of metal, (leaves or stems?). The pin stem is attached at the top of the bezel in the back. The bezel is open at back to allow additional light into the stone. The metal is brass. Ridged curvy metal was a common Art Nouveau motif. 2 1/2 " long 1/2" wide

Fleur-de-lis of sterling silver. The stick pin is soldered onto the fleur-de-lis. The pin has a spiral grove cut into it, 1/2" long, about halfway up the pin. There was probably once a "keeper" which would have been pushed onto the pin and screwed up the spiral groove to hold the pin in place. Pin is 2 2/3" long.

Art Deco open-wire geometric design with a diamond-shaped, bezel-set faceted red rhinestone. Likely covered with gold gilt which is mostly worn off. Very popular during the Edwardian period (1901-1910) but also worn by men and women before and after this time. 2 3/4 " long 1/2" wide

Marquise-shaped head appears to be a cast finding with cups with prongs for 8 rounded, clear, faceted rhinestones. Inside that is a marquise-shaped cabochon of unknown material (possibly oyster shell or glass). It has orange and white stripes and is held in place by prongs. The stick pin is soldered to the back, silver-colored and has been twisted to provide added hold in cloth. The finding appears gilded in rose gold. Pin is 2 1/4" long Head is 5/8 tall and 3/8" wide.

Oval amber cabochon with a faceted rose-cut back. It is bezel set and surrounded by a substantial edge with designs stamped on, probably brass gilded. The pin is attached at the top, on the back. Pin is 2 7/8" long Head is 7/8" long by 5/8" wide

Tiger eye cameo of a woman carved out of the stone which is held in place by rows of boxes that appear to be rose gold. The open plate that the stone is set on may be gold filled, as it appears to be worn on the back and sides. Pin is 2 1/2" long and head is 1/2" long and 3/8" wide.

Stick pin with cobalt blue enamel oval. Metal appears to be rose gold-plated over brass. Frame looks punched out to reveal the cobalt blue enamel beneath. On back the metal edges have been folded over to hold the bottom plate in place. The pin stem is attached to the back of the plate and is smooth. 2" long head 3/4" long 1/2" wide

Faceted round rhinestone (Citrine?) held by prong of metal pulled from surrounding crescent of sterling silver inlaid with rhinestones. The clear rhinestones graduate from larger to tiny on each side. At the bottom is a small faceted rhinestone surrounded by border of sterling silver with a decorative edge. The pin stem is held away from the headpiece so that the fully-faceted stone can catch the light. The sterling may have been lacquered black and is chipping away now. Pin is 2 5/8" long and the headpiece is 1/2" across and 5/8" long.

Sword stick pin made from one continuous piece of round wire, gold or gold-filled. The pin stem is square, gold or gold-filled wire with a twist in the middle to give extra hold on fabric. 2 1/16" long sword hilt 1/2" high 3/8" wide.

Stick pin of brass twig and leaves, nicely etched with two coral balls, each on a wire with a tiny crimp to keep it in place. It appears that one bead is missing, The long stick pin is more silvery in color, unknown metal, with the wire twisted in the middle. Likely handmade. 2 1/2" long; leaves & berries; 7/8" long 9/16" wide.

A carved cameo of a woman, there is a dark substance in a number of the cuts indicating her hair. The finding holding the cameo is decorated along the edges with lines making square boxes. Rose gold or yellow gold? The pin stem is soldered to the backing. On the back faintly visible, is a script capital C. The pin stem has spirals in the middle to give added hold in the fabric. Pin may be gold or gold-filled backing to hold the rectangular shell cameo. Pin is 2 1/2" long headpiece is 5/16" wide by 1/2" tall.

Portrait stick pin with image of little girl with large bow in her hair, and doll. The image frame is a simple bezel surrounding the round glass, with a twisted wire around the frame. Four prongs in back holds the back plate attached to the pin itself. Pin itself is a four-sided wire, with twists in the middle to help secure it to the setting. Metal may be gold, or gold filled. Possible mourning pin connection, although color is bright on metal. 2" long 1/4" wide

The stick pin metal is sterling silver or rhodium-plated. Edwardian filigree style. In the center a round rhinestone, held by 4 bits of metal, now turned yellow, on each end, 2 triangles of faceted blue glass All edges are milgrain. On the back, the pin is attached at the top. Stamped into the pin is J.H.P. standing for John H. Peckham/Peckham & Sons. 2 3/4" long 5/16" wide

Horseshoe appears to be made of brass. It is unknown if it is gilded with gold or is gold filled. On back the pin is soldered directly on the horseshoe. P.S.C.O. is stamped onto the pin. It stands for Plainville Stock Company, of Plainville, MA; manufacturing jewelry since late 19th century. The decorations on the front of the horseshoe represent furrows where the nails were hammered into the horseshoe. Pin is 2 1/2 " long by 9/16" wide.

Head of pin is molded brass to allow prongs to hold central cabochon. It is open on the back to allow light through. Eight cups with prongs hold clear rhinestones. The central cabochon is unusual, likely crackle glass under a clear glass layer. It sparkles green and pink flashes in a light amber glass, an attempt to imitate yellow topaz or opal. The pin stem has several turns to hold it more securely in fabric. Pin stem is quite thick. Pin is 2 3/16" long--Head is 7/16" diameter.

Scalloped crescent with 5 real seed pearls. There are two tiny depressions in the metal where a star was once attached that also contained a seed pearl. On the back is the K or karat sign indicating this was solid gold, as well as a maker's mark. Pin is 2" long and 5/16" wide

Stick Pin in knotted form. The love knot motif was common in Victorian decoration, this one consisting of two strands in a tight knot. This is likely a gold-filled wire, as it is resisting tarnish the way brass would. The pin stem attaches to the center of the knot in the back. 2 5/8" long. 3/8" diameter

Relief image of a nude woman standing in water. This is a direct replica of a circa 1912 painting by Paul Emile Chabas called "September Morn" now hanging at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Likely base metal, plated in karat gold. Pin is 2 1/2 " long. Rectangular image is 3/4" long and 3/8' wide.

Serpent stickpin; polished white quartz on an oval plate that is attached to the pin stem. Wrapped around the quartz is a detailed sea serpent with an open mouth and tongue, arrowhead tail and scales. Probably brass, but polished brought out copper color. (Brass plated copper?) The head is 1/2" in length and 3/8" wide 2 3/8 " long

Octagonal-shaped head with a rectangular piece of pressed glass, amethyst in color, is glued onto the top of the piece of metal. The base metal may be copper, gilded with silver on top, now quite worn. The metal is stamped with swirling designs. This top piece folds over the the base metal (copper, silver base metal?) into which the pin is attached on the back. Pin is 2 1/4" long Head is 9/16" in diameter

Petite stickpin, three small round emerald rhinestones set in shape of a clover with a tiny gold wire stem. The pin stem is attached to the back and is a matte gold. The pin stem has many spirals cut into it helping to keep it attached to the cloth of the clothing. May be gold filled or gold. 1 13/16" long

Mother of Pearl lanceolate-shaped pin head with a concave oval shape carved in the center. An amber rhinestone is set in the center with prongs. Unable to tell if the MOP is set into the brass backing or if it is glued onto it. The pin is soldered directly onto the back. Pin is 2 13/16" long--Head is 15/16" long and 3/8" wide

Silver (sterling?) stickpin topped with a silver ball. There are indentations along the shaft to help it stick in cloth. Attached to the stick pin is a seated Liberty dime, dated 1877, that on the reverse side has been smoothed and engraved with, from the top, a half circle of notches, 2 stems with leaves, the initials C.F.H., triangular decorations and Greek key 1/2 circle. (engraving is delicate and refined) A silver chain was attached. 1 7/8" long

Gold-plated or gold-filled horseshoe stick pin. There are 7 "nail" holes marked around the horseshoe as well as other decorative elements. The stick pin was soldered onto the back of the horseshoe. The square stem wire is twisted in the middle to provide extra grip on the fabric. Pin is 2 5/16" long Horseshoe is 5/8" tall by 9/16" wide.

Celluloid and silver stickpin with clear, round cabachon in the center. Octagonal head of pin of round ivory color material with lines. Likely celluloid made to imitate ivory. The silver-tone metal is stamped with a design that encircles the celluloid. The pin is 2 1/4" long and the octagonal head is 1/2" in diameter.

The watch, manufactured in Switzerland by the Imperial Watch Co., started in 1875, is attached by a jump ring and is able to swivel and hangs upside down so time can be checked easily. The front of the watch is machine made guilloche enamel design covered in turquoise translucent enamel with a hand painted pink rose and green leaves. Large hook on the back, round hinge and safety clasp. Stamped on the back is 1/20 10 kt C.T.(Cheever and Tweedy & Co., North Attleboro, MA started in 1880) 1 1/8" long, watch case is 13/16" diameter

Brass pin, with decorative mesh and fob. The brass pin, possibly covered in gilt gold with large sunflower stamped and soldered onto a larger rectangular plate, with cutouts of ivy decorative designs. The borders are wavy and overall it is probably showing an aesthetic influence. The metal mesh is likely gold filled. The triangular plate is stamped brass with gilt? Designed for an engraved name or initials. There are small engraved lines, curlicues and dots on this plate. The fob is Art Nouveau influenced with wavy lines in a vaguely fleur-de-lis shape, and an oval plate on the bottom. 4 1/2" long. 1 11/16" wide.

Watch pin formed by 3 loops of ridged gold-filled wire decorated with fleur-de-lis, swirls and one leaf. The leaf is distinctive and decorated with bands of rose gold, white gold and yellow gold with a stippled surface. The ridged gold wire and 3-colored gold leaf are typical of many pieces of jewelry made by R.F. Simmons Co. (Attleboro, MA 1873-1952). On the back is a round hinge and an early version of the safety clasp. SIMMONS stamped on the large hook. RFS &CO stamped on inside of safety clasp. 1" long 7/8" wide
