One painted and grained tripod, tilt-top table in the country Chippendale style. It was obviously used as a sewing table as evidenced by a series of sewing bird clamp dimples on the underside of the circular top. Legs are snake foot design with 'pad' or 'slipper' feet. The piece has its original faux-wood grain painted surface in imitation of mahogany. The legs are dovetailed to the ballasted support column and further anchored to it by means of a wrought iron, three branched 'spider' brace. The tilt-top catch mechanism is of wrought iron and also original to the piece.
