It has eight cubbies, two drawers, and a leather desk pad with gold tooling. The top portion of the desk attaches to the bottom with pegs. It has three wide shelves along with small side shelves for curios. Includes original key with working locking mechanism.

Empire style secretary. The top has a large molded cornice and gothic arched glazed doors outlined with flame molding and above two drawers. The base has a fold-down writing surface above three drawers with wooden pulls, the top one of which is serpentine shape. Scalloped apron and bracket feet topped with flame molding.

American empire style secretary desk with attached bookcase. Glass doors enclose two shelves, two drawers with one long rectangular cubby in between and nine pigeon holes underneath. Two drawers are under the glass doors with three larger drawers below those. The top drawer holds a removable "desk" platform that has green felt on one side and solid wood on the other. Drawers have round wooden knobs. Crotch mahogany veneer.
