4 Ladies in Hem-Length Mantles
Object/Artifact
First back view of a double cape, looks like black taffeta trimmed with zigzagged braid at the top hem. Black bonnet with green ribbons and a yellow arching plume. Second shows the front view, lined with blue, with a handy net pocket in the inside front. Third, a white double mantle of white, the top layer shaped with a long panel down the front, with a black pelerine-like collar, and black frills around the hem. Red bonnet. Fourth shows a more modest blue-green variation with white collar. 2 drawings show back views of bonnets.
