Farm journals were exceedingly popular in the 19th century. Many states had their own newspapers, some of which had nationwide circulations. They ranged from weekly, to monthly, to quarterly. This particular monthly newspaper, American Farmer and Farm News was from Springfield, Ohio. It ran from around 1880 through the first part of the 20th century.
