Cardboard box covered with glossy white paper stamped with moire pattern, edges bound with brown tape. One end has a small printed cut-corner paper label with “A.T. S & Co.” within an oval- and a place to indicate Quality/Figure, Large/Length-yds. Beautifully written in ink in the center of that side is the abbreviation “Cno.” Contained items # 2008.071-77: 2 pairs of fine white lisle stocking; embroidered ribbon belt; reticule; pair of slippers; fan in box; pieces of wedding dress.15” l x 9.25” d x 4” h." "Inscription inked in corner of lid: “Wedding dress & other articles 1833 Oct. 8th”From the family of Elisha Dyer, b 1811. Married Anna Jones Hoppin in 1833. Governor of RI 1857-1859. Son Elisha Jr. governor of RI . Son William Jones Dyer b 1850. Married Lillian Pitman Greene. (LGD) Their daughter, Anna Jones Dyer (AJD) wrote some of these notes.
