Cabinet card of a young adult women in 3/4 profile. She wears hair in a high bun atop her head and with frizzy fringe at front. In her bun appears a small loop of faux pearls on a wire. The bodice has small puffed sleeves caps, and a collar stand, gathered center front plastron panel. At collar stand she has pinned a circular brooch, with attached chain and stick pin for extra securing. No earrings. Below cabinet card is stamped in gold lettering: "Dunklee and Bau Northampton, Mass. Brattleboro, Vt. Greenfield, Mass." On back is illustration of a classical woman in loose robes, floral motifs and arts and crafts printed decoration. Text reads in diagnolas and straight on: "Dunklee & Bau, received all honors diploma and first premium, over all competitors. Northampton, Mass. Brattleboro, Vt. Greenfield, Mass. Highest Award For artist excellence, beauty and general merit for cabinet photographs and life-size portraits, in competition at the exhibition hels in Greenfield, Sept. 25th and 26th, 1890. Payment will be required in advance for all future orders."
