Comb, Ornamental

Object/Artifact

Heavy dark tortoiseshell comb with high bridge, strongly rounded; 7 curved ribs; ridged border across base of bridge, with molded curved panels sweeping to each side. Scalloped top and side edges; design of flowers and leaves, and border executed in fine metal pins (plique a jour). Medium-sharp teeth. 5 x 6 Early repair to broken bride, of tortoise patch applied attached with brass pins!
