Dress
Clothing/Dress/Costume
Partly machine-stitched and hand-stitched women's working dress made of pink cotton or chambray fabric. Dress used for a housework dress. Possibly for a maid or servant. Double tucked deep hem at bottom of the skirt. The bodice is gathered slightly in front at the waist and to the shoulder yoke. The yoke comes to a point at the center back. High round neckline. Straight sleeves that end without cuffs. Wrist and the center front of bodice closure with MOP buttons. Buttonholes are hand-stitched. Sleeve caps have small puffs. The skirt lies almost flat at the center front and sides but is heavily gathered at the center back. Unlined.
